"Ragg Bagg Babys"
patterns are the work of Oklahoma doll artist
Louise Allen.
Louise began sewing, as she says, "years ago"
when she specialized in quilts.
After making a few dolls and finding that they sold
well at craft shows, she moved more that direction.
Like so many of us, it was friends that encouraged Louise
to begin making patterns for her original dolls.
Once she started doing that it became another
outlet for her creative talents. Now there are
some 65 Ragg Bagg Baby patterns and more on the way.
Louise tells us that she's the mother of three grown daughters
and now has three young grandkids, two boys and one girl.
She says "you can see that raising three girls and playing
dolls with them, I would have a passion for dolls of all kinds.
I especially love the Raggedy Annies."
She also says that her girls are her biggest fans
and have almost every doll that she has made.
We've had a number of request for more Raggedy Ann style
dolls so we've been looking for some good ones.
We really like how Louise interprets the theme so we're
going to feature quite a few of her Annies.
Louise said "I think anything that comes from the hands,
also comes from the heart".
She's right and it shows in her dolls.
We love them and think you will too.
We'll put our collection of "Ragg Bagg Babys" patterns on
several separate pages.
