These wonderful primitive designs illustrate all that we've come to love about primitive art: simple sayings from the heart, primitive style artwork, colors from the earth.

Mulberries All mulberries, which are long, spindlelike, and resemble blackberries, are edible. Black mulberries are favored for desserts; reds are nice for preserves and wines; and white are lovely dried, and used as a substitute in recipes for figs or rasins. Mulberries are quite sweet and can be made into pies, jams and jellies. Edwardians of medivial England were particularily fond of simmering mulberries in their own jucies and adding a pinch of sugar to taste. Letting this mixture cool, they served it over sorbet with cream.             © Mulberry Folk Art 1988
